Some new urea plants are being constructed in Inner Mongolia AR, Heilongjiang Province and Shanxi Province, and are projected to be completed soon and put into operation in the second half of this year, with a combined capacity of 4.56 million tpy.
This year will also see some old plants phased out around the country, eliminating a combined 4 million tpy of obsolete urea capacity.
China’s effective urea capacity is estimated at 77.7 million tpy, and the country’s 2015 urea output is projected to be about 70 million tons.
